My Story
He/Him/His
I was always very chubby growing up and had a hard time fitting in. I realized my weight affected my confidence. One year my older sister convinced me to join my school’s basketball team. Fortunately for me, everyone who tried out got a spot. I started to get in better shape, made friends, and for the first time built self-confidence.
When I got to high school, I quickly realized I did not have the right build to play basketball competitively anymore. I gave football a try, and through football, I was introduced to strength training. Weight training, along with pure heart, gave me the ability to earn a starting spot and receive 2nd team all-league honors. After my senior year, I knew again I just didn't have the right body type to play at the next level.
While going to college and working for a big box gym, I found MMA. I fell in love with the sport. The idea that a highly skilled smaller opponent can defeat a much larger opponent intrigued me.
After a while, I thought it was time for me to put my skills to the test. I fought for Gladiator Challenge at Thunder Valley Casino and won via 2nd round arm-triangle choke.
After the fight, I realized that although I loved competing, what I enjoyed the most was the community I've built around sports. From there, I shifted my focus to helping others become the most badass version of themselves. I've worked with everyone from pro fighters, to people recovering from spinal cord injuries to weight loss clients to busy c level executives, and of course the weekend warrior. My ideal client is anyone who has a good attitude and wants to better themselves.
My Philosophy
I believe everyone is an athlete, even if they have never played a sport in their life. I like to keep programming simple, with enough variety to tailor to the specific person’s needs and goals. Most importantly, I think training should be fun and prepare the person for whatever life throws at them.
