My Story

He/Him/His

As far back as I can remember, fitness has been a part of my life. I have many fond memories of running around the house as a child with my brother. My frenetic, youthful energy was soon guided towards a myriad of sports. Though I enjoyed all of the sports I played in those years, the one that changed my life the most, easily, was wrestling. Wrestling taught me important life lessons about humility, work ethic, appreciating the love & support of my family, enjoying the camaraderie of a brotherhood and, perhaps most of all, realizing that life is about the journey, not the destination. This last point has worked its way into many areas of my life; some quite surprising. My experiences since graduating high school have been new and varied. In that timespan I have spent countless hours lifting weights, rock climbing, dancing, and cooking. I have sustained a few injuries that have led me down some endless, but interesting, educational roads. Fortunately, these experiences have blended well with my passion for health and fitness that began when I was 17 and has remained, and evolved, ever since.

My Philosophy

Over the years, I have learned many lessons which have shaped my philosophy. I have learned to focus more on the process than on the product. I have learned to take a more moderate daily approach and stay focused on long-term growth. I have learned how damaging letting outside sources determine my goals and desires can be. I have learned how much more enjoyable exercise is when it is shared with others. I have learned that the journey is so, so long. Perhaps most significantly, I have realized that there is always more to learn. A lot more. In short: consistency, autonomy, community, humility, and growth. These lessons, applied, have helped me immensely. Exercise has profoundly changed my life not because I look in the mirror every morning and like what I see, but because it has helped build up my self-confidence to the point where I can transfer that self-belief to other areas of my life. I dearly hope to assist others on a similar journey.
